NMC Ship Agency & Brokerage, Inc. is a natural outgrowth of National Marine Corporation's (NMC) experience in its shipping operations when the corporation was established in 1984. The professional expertise of the people behind the company has been honed through the years of its shipping operations when NMC was established in 1984. For over 30 years, NMC has ventured into dry bulk (steel, copper and cement), petroleum tanker, LPG, container, bunkering, ship management, and ship repair as well as container yard, port operations and warehouse management. Today, NMC Ship Agency & Brokerage provides full agency & brokerage services to various shipowners, charterers, and principals here and abroad.

NMC Ship Agency & Brokerage ventured into the customs brokerage service to better serve its existing principals and clients in handling the customs processing of containerized exports from reputable local exporters as well as the importation requirements of several companies.

Doris Magsaysay Ho

Ms. Doris Magsaysay Ho is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Magsaysay Group of Companies which is involved in shipping, logistics, human resources, marine travel and tourism. She is also the President and CEO of Magsaysay Transport & Logistics Group, the shipping arm of the Magsaysay Group of Companies. In 2011, Ms. Ho received the Lloyd's List Asia 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution in the shipping industry. In 2010, she ranked 94th in the Lloyd's List of 100 Most Influential People in the Shipping Industry. Ms. Ho also received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Social Responsibility in 2004. She is actively involved in various civic groups such as the Asia Society Philippine Foundation, Inc., Asia Society (New York) and the Heritage Conservation Society.

Antony Louis Marden

Mr. Antony Louis Marden is the President of FIM Ltd., the partner of the Magsaysay Group of Companies in acquiring National Marine Corporation. Mr. Marden is currently a Director of the following Corporations: G. E. Marden & Co., Ltd., Fenwick Shipping Services, Ltd., and National Marine Corporation. Mr. Marden studied Chinese & Politics at the Leeds University of London and has worked in the shipping business for almost 40 years.

 
Russell R. More

Mr. Russell R. More is the General Manager of NMC Ship Agency & Brokerage. He has been with the Magsaysay Group of Companies since 1993 and was assigned in different divisions where he was able to hone his skills in dry cargo and logistics, port operations, business development and safety management. Mr. More holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce.

A small group of visionary ship agency companies banded together in1972 in answer to a felt need for a formal forum to professionalize the industry. Concerned with the vital role ship agency plays in the maritime industry, these companies formed the Philippine Trampship Agents Association (PTAA) with the objectives of promoting and protecting the interests of local representatives of foreign shipowners whose ships call at various Philippine Ports. The PTAA proved to be the precursor of an expanded and more relevant organization. In 1974, the Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA) was formed and started where the PTAA left. The PSAA, fine-tuning itself with the needs of the times, integrated ship agents of foreign shipping lines and those of foreign trampers. NMC Agency & Brokerage is a member of the Philippine Ship Agents Association.


The MARINA was created on 01 June 1974 with the issuance of PD 474 and started functioning as an agency attached to the office of the President (OP) on 29 August 1979 with the issuance of PD 761 mandating the agency to integrate the development, promotion and regulation of the country's maritime industry. In 1979, MARINA, pursuant to EO 546 dated 23 July of the same year, was made an attached agency of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) for policy and program coordination. NMC Agency & Brokerage is accredited by MARINA.

The Philippine Ports Authority's mandate is to establish, develop, regulate, manage and operate a rationalized national port system in support of trade and national development. NMC Agency & Brokerage is accredited by the Philippine Ports Authority.

The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is the operating and implementing arm of the Government of the Philippines for the development of the 262 square mile (670 square kilometer) area of Subic Bay Freeport (SBF) or what was the former US Naval facility in Subic Bay into a self-sustaining tourism, industrial, commercial, financial, and investment center to generate employment opportunities. NMC Agency & Brokerage is accredited by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
